Storm of the Century:
Band Battle 2009
The East MS NWA/AMS hosted a Battle of the Bands on April 15, 2009.  Five bands performed including: Silas Reed and the Books (Oxford, MS), Marshall Law (Fayette, AL), Together Tomorrow (Hurley, MS), Mandatory Chaos (Starkville, MS), and The Engineers (Starkville, MS).

Congratulations to the winning band:  Silas Reed and the Books.

We raised almost $500.00 for the Starkville Humane Society.

Thank you to all who attended and made this event a success.

The East MS NWA/AMS is pleased to announce The "Conference Scholarship," a $300 scholarship devoted to helping students of the NWA/AMS have the financial ability to go to either the annual NWA or AMS conference. The money will be distributed based upon need and merit.  After the student(s) returns from the conference, he/she is expected to give a brief talk at the next NWA/AMS meeting about what they learned/saw at the conference.

The largest project of the NWA/AMS is the Southeast Severe Storms Symposium, held every spring on the Campus Mississippi State University.

In 2006-07 we were proud to be sponsoring a youth football team

The NWA/AMS Lightning

The Lightning was coached by our own Justyn Jackson.
