MSU-SDA

SDA Kickoff Party

When:  Tuesday, January 31^st, 2006

Time:  4:45 - 6:00 p.m.

Where:  Dr Brent Fountain’s home

What:  Come join us for a pasta supper provided by the MSU-SDA officers and committee heads at our advisor’s home.  Come meet new people and visit with all your SDA friends.

 

DIRECTIONS TO THE FOUNTAIN”S HOUSE:  Head south on Montgomery.  From Highway 12, you will pass 3 stop lights.  The last stop light is at the intersection of Academy Road (where Oby’s is) and is South Montgomery.  Go about 3/4 mile until you see the lighted Timbercove subdivision sign, this is Shadowood Lane.  Turn right onto Shadowood and then take your first right onto Pine Ridge Circle.  Our house is the first house on the right.  It will have multicolored lights on the back deck.  It is on the corner, so feel free to park along the street or driveway.  Our home number is: 323-1991 if you need more directions.  See you there!

 

 

 

Body Positive Speaker—Jennifer Fuller

What:  Come hear Jennifer Fuller, RD, from the MSU Student Health Center as she talks about how to have a positive body image in today’s society.  Come ready to learn about common misconceptions dealing with body image as well as eating disorder prevention and treatment. 

 

 

 

Boy Scouts Service Project

When:  Monday, February 27th

Time:  7pm

What:  Come join us as we teach the Starkville Boy Scouts how to safely pack and prepare food for camping trips.

Jennifer Fuller

What:  Come join the SDA as we host Jennifer Fuller, RD from the MSU Student Health Center for a campus-wide outreach event .  We are really excited about Jennifer coming to speak about having a positive body image as well as Body Positive and healthy eating habits.  Get geared up and excited about this event!

 

 

 

Mississippi Dietetic Association Conference

When: Wednesday - Friday, March 29 - 31, 2006

Where:  Vicksburg, MS

What:  Annual convention of the Mississippi Dietetic Association.  For more info, contact an officer.

 

 

 

WIC Speaker

When:  Tuesday, April 4, 2006

Time:  4:45 pm

Where:  Herzer 100

What:  Patricia Heflin, RD, will be talking about the Mississippi WIC (women, infants, and children) program and nutritional interventions used with the program.  At this meeting, we will also be talking about the CALS breakfast.

 

 

 

Annual Super Bulldog Weekend Alumni Breakfast: College of Agriculture and Life Sciences

When:  Saturday, April 8^th, 2006

Where:  Bost Auditorium

What:  Come help at the MSU-SDA’s major fundraiser and help us prepare and cook on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning for the annual MSU CALS Alumni Breakfast.  Get practical Foodservice experience while enjoying time with SDA friends.  For more information or to sign up, contact Caroline Jones at crj73@msstate.edu

 

 

 

Field Experience Panel

When:  Tuesday, April 18^th, 2006

What:  Come listen to a panel discussion with upper-level nutrition undergraduate students from MSU.  Learn about field experiences, see some portfolios, and come ask questions from those who are in their senior year of college. 

 

 

 

End of the Year Party

When:  Tuesday, May 2^nd, 2006

Time:  5pm

Where:  Dr. Brent Fountain’s home

What:  Join us for an end of the year party as we enjoy the last week of classes.  We will be electing the officers for the 2006-2007 school year and honoring our graduating seniors.  Come visit with everyone before the summer break and plan to have a great time!
