In a new online 'State-Gram' released to faculty and staff today [March 13], Mississippi State University President Robert H. "Doc" Foglesong addressed questions related to his recent resignation. The text of the newsletter follows:
Mississippi State University's 18th president, Robert H. "Doc" Foglesong, today [March 7] announced his plans to leave his position no later than June 30.
In what is believed to be a first for any university, Mississippi State simultaneously took its 130th birthday celebration to more than 80 statewide sites.
In the second yearly survey of faculty, staff and students, Mississippi State officials say they see a continued belief among campus constituencies that the university is moving ahead.
Mississippi State's Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field, the nation's second-oldest campus football stadium, soon will undergo a three-to-four-year phased painting upgrade.
With nearly 800 acres of maintained grounds, 300 buildings, 15 miles of roadways, and thousands of people making use of the Mississippi State University campus daily, MSU's facilities management group is one of the busiest units at the land-grant institution.
