The Mississippi State University Extension Service addresses critical family issues through the Family & Consumer Education program.  Its goal is to help peope become healthy, productive, financially secure, environmentally responsible contributors to society.

Extension provides an unbiased source of information for families.  It also networks with other agencies, providing an outreach component.  Trained educators address real problems in local communities, extending the teaching and research base of Mississippi State University throughout the state and into all 82 counties.

Through Family & Consumer Education, energetic and dedicated volunteers in every county join state specialists and county home economists in bringing quality programs to more than half a million Mississippians each year.
