Scholarship and Loan Programs in Teacher Education (State of Mississippi)

Teaching NutritionMississippi has been proactive in addressing the teaching shortage in many disciplines and geographic locations around the state. The Legislature has provided funding for two excellent loan programs available to those who meet the requirements. In both programs, awarding of funds is not need-based, and funds are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis subject to availability of funds provided by the Legislature. Financial obligation is discharged through teaching service in a Mississippi public school (see below). Simply put, there is no payback as long as the service requirement is met! These programs are available exclusively to undergraduates who are working toward a teacher education degree:

Additional Scholarships and Financial Aid open to undergraduates, regardless of major, who meet specific eligibility requirements, are also available:

Additional scholarships are also available in the School of Human Sciences. Consult the MSU Undergraduate Bulletin for further information.
