Hundreds of students enjoyed viewing the "Great American Eclipse" in the early afternoon hours of Aug. 21. The Department of Physics and Astronomy, along with the College of Arts and Sciences and others, hosted a viewing event at MSU's Drill Field. Volunteers distributed 1,000 pairs of eclipse glasses so students, faculty and other community members could watch the awe-inspiring event safely.
