

Alumni were asked in the spring/summer 1994 issue of Mississippi State Alumnus to submit names for consideration for the positions up for election. As a result, the Nominating Committee is prepared to present a slate of names at the association's annual business meeting scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 22, at 10:30 a.m. in the Rogers Auditorium of McCool Hall. At that time, officially registered delegates of the various alumni chapters will cast their votes for the Nominating Committee's slate, or for other candidates should there be any additional nominations from the floor.
All Mississippi State alumni are invited to attend the meeting.
Following are the positions to be filled and those nominated for each position:
National President
Burton B. Hosch Jr. of Natchez ('70, accounting), president of Deposit Guaranty National Bank, Natchez. Presently serves as National First Vice President.
National First Vice President
Barbara Rhoades of Starkville ('70, business statistics and data processing, '71, M.B.A.), administrative officer, College of Veterinary Medicine. Presently serves as National Second Vice President.
National Second Vice President
Durr Boyles of Jackson ('82, engineering), insurance agent, Boyles, Moak & Brickell. Presently serves as the Central Mississippi Chapter representative on the national board and as a member of the Executive Committee of the board.
North 2 Region Director, representing Alcorn, Itawamba, Lee, Monroe, Pontotoc, Prentiss, Tippah, Tishomingo, and Union county chapters.
Connie Terry of Ripley ('77, education), director, Rainbow Preschool. Presently serves as the North 2 Region Director.
Central 1 Region Director, representing Bolivar, Holmes, Humphreys, Leflore-Carroll, Sharkey-Issaquena, Sunflower, Washington, and Yazoo county chapters.
Horace Newman Sr. of Valley Park, retired. Presently serves as the Central 1 Region Director.
South 3 Region Director, representing Forrest-Lamar-Perry, George-Greene, Hancock, Harrison, Jackson, Pearl River, and Stone county chapters.
Perian K. Harrington of Vancleave ('82, banking and finance), trust investment officer and portfolio manager, Hancock Bank. Presently serves as the South 3 Region Director.
Young Director -- Northern District, representing young alumni (32 years old or younger) in the chapters of the three Northern regions.
Ronnie Sleeper of Corinth ('90, marketing), finance manager, Patrick Home Center. He is a former coordinator of chapter programs for the Alumni Association.
Out-of-State Director
Dr. Mollie McCullough Alarcon of New Orleans ('68, physical education, '72, M.S. physical education), associate director and educational consultant, Child Development Center, Department of Pediatrics, Alton Ochsner Medical Institutions.
