University honors physical therapist

The university dedicated the Celia C. Robson Physical Therapy Suite in August at the Longest Student Health Center.

The facility is named for the retired physical therapist who worked at the center for 25 years before retiring in 1988. Among the first to practice physical therapy in Mississippi, she holds the 26th license issued by the state.

A graduate of Georgia State College for Women--now Georgia College--Robson came to Mississippi State in 1963. She was the first physical therapist in Oktibbeha County.

"Celia played a pioneering role for both students and sports medicine," said Dr. Robert K. Collins, health center director. "Her dedication influenced many Starkville and Mississippi State students to enter the field."

Robson currently has a private practice at her home in Starkville.
