

William Baker Andrews of Starkville died Aug. 26, 1995. He was 89.
Andrews was a retired professor of agronomy at Mississippi State. He also was a retired agronomist for Mississippi Chemical Corp.
He received his bachelor's and master's degree from Mississippi State in 1929 and 1931, respectively.
He was a past president of the Starkville Exchange Club, a member of the County Agriculture Club, and a former member of the Starkville Board of Aldermen.
Andrews was credited with developing the use of anhydrous ammonia as a fertilizer.
