Z. William Koby of Starkville died Sept. 17, 1995. He was 74.

Koby was a retired professor of business and industry at Mississippi State. He previously had taught at the University of Houston and had been a principal of Brown and Koby Advertising Agency and owner of wholesale Outlet Retail Chain, all in Houston, Texas. He also had served as manager of Koby Photo Supply in Cleveland, Ohio.

He was a member of the Mississippi Retailers Association, the Mississippi Manufacturing Association, the American Marketing Association, and the Mississippi Senior Golf Association. He founded Southwest Marketing Association.
