Mississippi State opens 'easy' resource center

For business and industrial developers, the university now offers “one-stop shopping.”

The College of Business and Industry has opened the Resource Referral Center to provide services related to community development and technology transfer. The university’s newest public service office is an arm of the Technology Research Institute for Business and Engineering, a jointly administered unit of the business college and the College of Engineering.

“The goal of the institute is to promote public/private partnerships that will enhance economic development throughout Mississippi,” said economist Charles A. Campbell, the business college’s associate dean of external affairs and center director.

While many communities, companies, and government agencies know where and whom to contact with research questions, “there are many, many others that do not,” Campbell said.

“The Resource Referral Center was created to remedy this and make the process as easy as possible,” he said.
