Crain, Grandpre fill student affairs directors' post


Two Mississippi State administrators are assuming new leadership positions in the Division of Student Affairs.

R. Bruce Crain is the new director of student financial aid and scholarships. He had been serving as associate director.

Edward A. Grandpre also moves up from associate director to head of student housing and residence life.

Crain will head the office that administers need- and merit-based financial resources for eligible students. More than 70 percent of Mississippi State's students receive some sort of financial aid.

He holds bachelor's degrees in business and accounting, and a master's in higher education administration, all from Mississippi State. He also has served as assistant director of the office.

Grandpre will lead a housing system that serves 4,000 students in 14 residence halls, a single student apartment complex, and a family housing apartment complex.

He holds a bachelor's degree from High Point (N.C.) College, a master's from Wake Forest University, and a doctorate from The Ohio State University.
