
Brenda Bowlin is Mississippi State's new head volleyball coach, taking over for Samye Johnson, who will now concentrate on her duties as administrator of women's athletics.
Bowlin previously was the head coach at Murray State University for five years, where she compiled a 91-73 record, won an Ohio Valley Conference Championship, and had three 20-win seasons.
The Sykesville, Mo., native is a 1989 graduate of Salisbury (Maryland) State, where she was team captain for three seasons. She also has been a graduate assistant at Murray State and an assistant coach at the University of South Alabama.
