Arthur Leonard Farley Jr. of Starkville, retired head of the Department of Art at Mississippi State, died May 29, 1997. He was 76.
Farley, a Clanton, Ala., native, received a bachelor's degree at the University of Alabama and a master of arts from Ohio State University.
He was an art professor at Arkansas State University before coming to Mississippi State in 1968. He retired in 1986.
He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
