Samuel Roland Jones

professor of marketing and PGM director

Samuel Roland Jones ('57, M.B.A. '58) of Starkville, professor of marketing in the College of Business and Industry and director of the Professional Golf Management program at Mississippi State, died June 30, 1997. He was 63.

A native of Honolulu, Hawaii, Jones received bachelor's and master's degrees at Mississippi State before earning a Ph.D. at the University of Arkansas in 1968.

In addition to his positions at Mississippi State, Jones was a founder and partner in Travel First Travel Agency. He was a past president of the Starkville Area Chamber of Commerce.
