Turning 106 - Stevens Renfrow of Jackson and Mississippi State President Malcolm Portera share a laugh during a visit just prior to Renfrow's 106th birthday in July. A 1916 agriculture graduate, Renfrow is believed to be Mississippi State's oldest living alumnus and oldest living M-Club member. While at Mississippi State, Renfrow ran track with Olympian Don Scott. The Wesson native and World War I veteran spent 39 years as a high school teacher, coach, and principal at Okolona, Moorhead, New Site, Brookhaven, and Jackson. In 1976, he received the Central Mississippi Chapter of the National Football Hall of Fame's Contribution to Amateur Athletics Award for helping develop the state's first high school classification system. He also helped organize the Mississippi High School Literary and Athletic Association.
