McIlwain featured in national publication

Starkville native and Houston, Texas, businessman William E. "Bill" McIlwain (B.S. '64) has been featured in Realtor Magazine, the trade publication of the National Association of Realtors.

McIlwain is president of Gary Greene, Realtors, Better Homes and Gardens. The company is the largest of its kind in the Houston metro area, with 589 salespeople and gross sales of $852 million.

In its July 1999 issue, the magazine spotlighted McIlwain in a section that analyzed the marketing strategies of the most successful real estate companies in the nation's 11 largest markets.

McIlwain and partner Brad Fleming, who is now vice president of Gary Greene, formed a two-person company in 1969. Six years later, they purchased the Gary Greene name-already well recognized in Houston-and the company has grown steadily.
