Those who haven’t visited campus recently might be surprised to see a number of major renovations in progress, not to mention some old-fashioned sprucing up.
In addition to recently completed constructions—including the Joe Frank Sanderson Center and the Swalm Chemical Engineering Building—an extensive renovation of Hilbun Hall has just been completed, Lee Hall is undergoing an extensive exterior facelift, and the addition of the east-side grandstand at Scott Field is progressing nicely. Renovations are complete at McKee and Sessums residence halls.
Future plans call for the construction of a landscape architecture building, a music rehearsal facility, a new alumni and foundation center, a furniture research building, a north entrance road to campus, and a bicycle path from University Drive to Colvard Union.
Upcoming renovations include McCain Hall, Montgomery Hall, Bowen Hall, the YMCA Building, Lee Hall auditorium, and a number of other residence halls. Repairs will be made to the Perry Tower at the Chapel of Memories and an addition to the Longest Student Health Center will expand the waiting area and improve patient access.
