Their visit was part of a three-week concert tour and artist residency funded by the International Research Exchange and Mississippi State's Humanities and Arts Research Program.
The two were artists-in-residence at the Prague Conservatory of Music, one of Europe's preeminent music institutions. Each also performed recitals and conducted master classes throughout the Czech Republic. Performances were broadcast by Czech radio. The European tour ended with a performance at the Hochschuler fur Musik in Frankfurt, Germany.
When they returned, the duo performed a recital at Mississippi State of works composed for them by Czech composers.
Johns joined the Mississippi State faculty in 1992; Harrison in 1987.
