Old Main book available this summer

The story of Old Main Dormitory is much more than the story of a building. Throughout nearly 80 years, some 40,000 young men—four generations—lived within its walls. Old Main embodies Mississippi State University itself, for the university is its students.

In honor of the grand old dorm and of those who called it home, the Mississippi State University Alumni Association asked history professors Charles Lowery and Roy Scott to produce a history of Old Main.

To be published this summer, Old Main: Images of a Legend will contain photographs, intriguing and humorous reminiscences by former residents, and a thorough history of what was reputedly the largest college dormitory under one roof in the nation.
