The first Prestigious Young Alumnus Award will be presented at the 1997 Alumni Awards Banquet on campus.
The award, created by the association's Young Alumni Advisory Committee, will recognize a young alumnus who has committed time and energy in service to the university and local community and who has demonstrated an ability to excel both personally and professionally. The Alumni Association classifies young alumni as those who are 32 years of age or younger.
Those eligible for the award must have attended Mississippi State for at least one semester of undergraduate or graduate study.
An Award Selection Committee will select the recipient. The committee will consider service to Mississippi State, commitment of volunteer time to civic/community organizations, and personal and professional accomplishments.
Nominations for the award from Mississippi State alumni, faculty, staff, or students must include one letter of nomination and a completed nomination form, which can be obtained by writing or calling the Alumni Association at P.O. Box AA, Mississippi State, MS 39762-5526 (Attn: Prestigious Young Alumnus Award), 662-325-2434, e-mail: landrews@alumni.msstate.edu. Nominations must be received by October 1.
