

The Alumni Association named 14 outstanding chapters for 1995 at the Annual Alumni Awards Banquet in January.
Honored as outstanding Mississippi chapters in 1995 for excellence in annual giving, chapter membership, chapter activities, and leadership were:
Category I, selected from among 24 chapters with membership potential of under 250--1. Claiborne-Jefferson County, Walter Cade, president; 2. Covington County, Janet Anderson, president; and 3. George-Greene County, Steven Brown, president.
Category II, selected from among 25 chapters with membership potential of 250 to 499--1. Coahoma County, Johnny Baker, president; 2. Tippah County, Cheryl Thurmond, president; and 3. Union County, Allen Maxwell, president.
Category III, selected from among 20 chapters with membership potential of more than 500--1. Central Mississippi, Pat Bell, president; 2. Lowndes County, Nancy Ford, president; and Oktibbeha County, Tommy Prentice, president.
Outstanding out-of-state chapters for 1995 were:
Category I, selected from among nine chapters with membership potential of under 500--1. Mobile, Ala., Katherine Johns, president; and 2. Muscle Shoals, Ala., Mike Creecy, president.
Category II, selected from 11 chapters with membership potential of more than 500--1. Huntsville, Ala., Mary Paige McElroy, president; 2. Birmingham, Ala., Don King, president; and 3. Dallas, Texas, Ronnie Parker, president.
