

Bradford Brooks ('87) of Water Valley has been named Young Farmer of the Year by the Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation.
Brooks runs a row-crop operation consisting of cotton, peanuts, corn, and soybeans on his 1,050-acre farm in Yalobusha County.
In 1993, he was Farm Bureau's District 4 Young Farmer. Known for his innovative techniques and high yields in peanut production, he was chosen in 1991 to represent Yalobusha County at a peanut exposition in Georgia.
Brooks is chairman of the Yalobusha Soybean Commission and a member of the Cotton Council and the Yalobusha Cattlemen's Association. He also is a member of the Yalobusha County Boll Weevil Management Committee and the Forest Landowners Association.
He is heavily involved in 4-H as leader of the local 4-H Volunteer Club and as a member of the 4-H Advisory Committee, as well as being instrumental in planning 4-H livestock shows.
Brooks and his wife, Luanne, have three children.
