Seven alumni chapters were named honor chapters for 1996 at the annual Alumni Awards Banquet in January.
The chapters were selected based on the achievement of membership quotas and the accumulation of at least 400 points according to the Chapter Recognition Point System. In addition, all the officers of each chapter are active members of the Alumni Association.
The 1996 in-state honor chapters are Lauderdale County, Wade Simms, president; Lawrence County, Jeff Peterson, president; Lee County, John Bryson, president; and Lowndes County, Nancy Ford, president.
The 1996 out-of-state honor chapters are Mobile, Ala., Archie Cammack, president; Nashville, Tenn., Tommy Martin, president; and Washington, D.C., Kevin Byrne, president.
