Waller wins seat on Supreme Court

Bill Waller Jr. (74), son of former governor Bill Waller, has been elected to the Mississippi Supreme Court. He will assume the responsibilities in January 1998.

Waller, a Jackson resident, previously was a municipal judge. He resigned that post in July 1996 to focus on the race for Supreme Court justice.

Waller campaigned on the idea of speeding up the judicial process.
