Joseph Edmund Milosh Jr.

Joseph Edmund Milosh Jr. of Starkville, former English professor and head of the Department of English at Mississippi State, died Oct. 24, 1996. He was 59.

Milosh received degrees from St. Edward's University, the University of Fribourg (Switzerland), and the University of Illinois.

Before coming to Mississippi State, he had taught English at the University of Illinois, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Northern Illinois University.

Milosh was the author of two books, The Scale of Perfection and the English Mystical Tradition and Teaching the History of the English Language in the Secondary Classroom. He also wrote a musical-dramatic production of Beowulf.
