Construction is well under way at the new Livestock Arena and Equine Training Center on South Farm. Work on the $6 million project began in May 1997 and should be complete by September 1998. The new center will serve as a training facility for standardbred horses, house the university's equine classes, and host livestock/horse shows. The 2,500-seat arena will accommodate other activities as planned by campus, city, and county groups.
