Music association taps Mississippi State administrator

A national music association is naming an MSU professor chair of its society for music teacher education.

The executive board of the Music Educators National Conference has appointed Randi L'Hommedieu to serve for two years as national chair beginning in April 1998. The higher education arm of the national organization, the society represents undergraduate and graduate music education faculty.

With more than 64,000 members, MENC is the largest association dedicated to the advancement of music education.

At Mississippi State, L'Hommedieu has served as Music Education Department head since 1993. He holds doctoral and master's degrees from Northwestern University and an undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
