Outstanding alumni chapters honored

The Alumni Association named 12 outstanding chapters for 1997.

In-state chapters honored for excellence in giving, chapter membership, chapter activities, and leadership were:

• Category I, selected from among 22 chapters with membership potential of under 250-Covington County, Lisa Campbell, president.

• Category II, selected from among 24 chapters with membership potential of 250 to 499-1. Union County, Walt Harrison, president; 2. Tippah County, Annette Fulmer, president; and 3. Coahoma County, Charlie Phillips, president.

• Category III, selected from among 23 chapters with membership potential of more than 500-1. Central Mississippi, Robin Browning, president; 2. Washington County, Chuck Hobart, president; and 3. Oktibbeha County, Tamra Swann, president.

Outstanding out-of-state chapters for 1997 were: 1. Huntsville, Ala., Karen Dugard, president; 2. Birmingham, Ala., Bill Stockton, president; and 3. Mobile, Ala., David Connelly, president.
