Ponder named president, CEO of Beechwood Data Systems



Ponder
Ron J. Ponder ('75) has been named president and chief executive officer at Beechwood Data Systems. Headquartered in Clark, N.J., Beechwood is a leading provider of software solutions and services to the telecomunications industry.

Ponder previously was executive vice president of operations and service management at AT&T and was the company's first corporate chief information officer.

Before joining AT&T in 1993, he was executive vice president for systems and operations for Sprint Communications Corp., where he was responsible for information management and technology initiatives.

Ponder previously spent 17 years with Federal Express Corp., overseeing development of critical technology innovations that helped create the huge overnight delivery industry and establish FedEx as the dominant player in that market.

He recently was named to the CIO Magazine Hall of Fame as one of the 12 most influential information technology executives of the past 10 years.

Beechwood Data Systems' consistent growth and success have earned the company national recognition. The company has been included in Inc. magazine's annual list of the top 500 fastest growing companies in America in 1993, 1994, 1995, and 1996.
