Eight alumni chapters were named Honor Chapters for 1998 at the annual Alumni Awards Banquet in January.

The chapters were selected based on the achievement of membership quotas and the accumulation of at least 400 points according to the Chapter Recognition Point System. In addition, all the officers of each chapter are active members of the Alumni Association.

The 1998 Honor Chapters are Alcorn County, Brett Benjamin, president; Attala-Choctaw County, Datwin Dabbs, president; Birmingham, Ala., Bill Stockton, president; Harrison-Stone County, Brian Currie, president; Lee County, Robert McNeil, president; Lincoln County, Gary Blair, president; Lowndes County, Dr. Norman Ford, president; Noxubee County, Gene Moore, president; and Washington, D.C., Mark Dumas, president.
