Art professor Paul Grootkerk is the university's first John Grisham Fellow. Accompanied by a check for $15,000, the honor recognizes an individual who demonstrates continued outstanding contributions, especially in undergraduate teaching.

The Grisham Fellows program is named in honor of the best-selling novelist who graduated from MSU in 1977.
