Alumni Association seeks nominations for board of directors

Nominations for officers and directors of the Alumni Association are being sought prior to elections scheduled for Homecoming weekend this fall.

The Nominating Committee will present a slate of names at the association's annual business meeting on Saturday, Oct. 22, for election to several association offices and positions on the national board of directors. The officers and directors elected will begin their terms on Jan. 1, 1995.

The board also will appoint members of the association to represent alumni societies and the association at-large.

The officer positions up for consideration include: national president, national first vice president, and national second vice president. Positions on the national board up for consideration include: young director, Northern District (North 1 Region—Calhoun, Chickasaw, Coahoma, Desoto, Lafayette, Marshall-Benton, Panola, Quitman, Tallahatchie, Tate, Tunica, and Yalobusha chapters; North 2 Region—Alcorn, Itawamba, Lee, Monroe, Pontotoc, Prentiss, Tippah, Tishomingo, and Union chapters; North 3 Region—Clay, Grenada-Montgomery, Lowndes, Oktibbeha, and Webster chapters); North 2 Region director (Alcorn, Itawamba, Lee, Monroe, Pontotoc, Prentiss, Tippah, Tishomingo, and Union chapters); Central 1 Region director (Bolivar, Holmes, Humphreys, Leflore-Carroll, Sharkey-Issaquena, Sunflower, Washington, and Yazoo chapters); South 3 Region director (Forrest-Lamar-Perry, George-Greene, Hancock, Harrison, Jackson, Pearl River, and Stone chapters); and Out-of-State director.

One Society director and one At-large director will be appointed by the national board of directors.

All Mississippi State alumni are eligible to recommend names for consideration for any of these positions. To do so, send them to: Nominating Committee, P.O. Box AA, Mississippi State, MS 39762-5526. Recommendations should be sent by July 15.

The annual Homecoming football game is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 22, against Tulane University.
