Community Involvement:
The Covington County Chapter is taking an active role in its community by assisting the Collins Elementary School's "Outdoor Classroom" project. Members of the chapter are providing assistance in preparing the grounds and landscaping the area. Pat Tripp (662) 765-6487.
Spring Fashion Review:
Members of the Lee County Chapter were treated to a Spring Fashion Show featuring the Mississippi State University Fashion Board. Eight stores in the Tupelo area provided fashions and door prizes for the event. Several prospective students also were on hand to learn more about the university, while enjoying the latest in spring fashions. Betty Black (662) 841-0979.
Student Recruitment:
The Tippah County Chapter recently hosted a student recruitment hamburger supper for Tippah County high school juniors and seniors. Jack Cristil, "Voice of the Bulldogs," was the featured speaker. An admissions counselor from the Office of College and School Relations also was present to answer questions. The event attracted 250 people. Cheryl Thurmond (662) 837-9936.
Creative Entertainment:
Lesha Campbell-Everett, Mississippi State class of 1989 and professional ventriloquist, was the featured entertainment for a steak dinner of the Quitman County Chapter. More than 65 people were in attendance to see Lesha and her "friends" perform. Bill Gooch (662) 326-8946.

Tennis Anyone?
The 12th annual Mississippi State-University of Mississippi Tennis Tournament in April hosted by the Washington County Chapter drew a record 486 players for the tennis tournament and 629 people for the dinner and dance that followed. The chapter hopes to award nine $1,000 scholarships to Washington County students attending Mississippi State this fall. Allen Maxwell (662) 332-1553.
