A general business major from Cape Fair, Mo., is the university's 13th Truman Scholar.
Henry W. Christrup is one of approximately 70 undergraduates in the nation named in the program that annually recognizes scholarship and commitment to public service. More than 700 students were nominated.
Mississippi State students consistently have earned the honor during the 17 years of the program's operation. The scholarships pay each recipient up to $30,000 for the senior year and for graduate education.
Christrup plans to attend law school and enter public service.
