Nominations sought for new board members

Nominations for officers and directors of the Alumni Association are being sought prior to elections scheduled for Homecoming Weekend this fall.

The Nominating Committee will present a slate of names for election at the association's annual business meeting on Saturday, Nov. 2. Terms will begin on Jan. 1, 1997.

The officer positions up for consideration include: national president, national first vice president, and national second vice president.

Positions on the national board up for consideration include: North 3 Region director (Clay, Grenada-Montgomery, Lowndes, Oktibbeha, and Webster county chapters); Central 2 Region director (Attala-Choctaw, Kemper, Neshoba, Noxubee, and Winston county chapters ); South 1 Region director (Clarke, Jasper, Jones, Lauderdale, Newton, and Wayne county chapters); South Region young director (Adams-Franklin-Wilkinson, Amite, Claiborne-Jefferson, Clarke, Copiah, Covington, Forrest-Lamar-Perry, George-Greene, Hancock, Harrison, Jackson, Jasper, Jefferson Davis, Jones, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Lincoln, Marion, Newton, Pearl River, Pike, Simpson, Stone, Walthall, and Wayne county chapters. A young director must be 32 years of age or younger at the end of the term to which elected.); and out-of-state director (No state shall have more than one out-of-state director. Current directors are from the states of Louisiana and Texas.).

All Mississippi State alumni are eligible to recommend names for consideration for any of these positions. To do so, send them to: Nominating Committee, P.O. Box AA, Mississippi State, MS 39762-5526. Recommendations should be received by July 22.

The annual Homecoming football game will feature Mississippi State vs. Northeast Louisiana.
