National organization honors biologist


A Mississippi State wildlife and fisheries researcher is a new member at the highest rank of the American Institute of Fishery Research Biologists.

Donald C. Jackson, a professor in the College of Forest Resources and the Forest and Wildlife Research Center, recently received the professional designation of AIFRB Fellow.

The institute works to promote conservation and wise use of natural resources through fisheries science.

Jackson's honor recognizes his achievements in the field of river fisheries biology.

An MSU faculty member since 1986, Jackson holds bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Arkansas and a doctorate from Auburn University.
