The Alumni Association and Howard Computers are teaming to keep Mississippi State alumni wired for the new century.
The Laurel-based computer manufacturing company is offering state-of-the-art computer systems to university alumni at affordable prices.
"We continually are looking for opportunities to enhance the lives of our alumni, and we believe that teaming with Howard to offer these personal computers provides great benefits for our alumni in today's computer-driven society," said John Correro, executive director of the Alumni Association.
In addition to the two personal computer systems offered and detailed in the print version of Alumnus, Howard also will work with alumni to custom design computer systems to meet individual or family needs.
"They are very customer driven," added Correro. "Howard will work with our alumni to design the computers they want."
Howard Computers is a subsidiary of Howard Industries, founded in 1968 by 1948 Mississippi State engineering graduate and current company chief executive officer Billy Howard. Howard Industries is the nation's leading manufacturer of distribution transformers.
Howard's daughter, Cyndi Howard McCoy, is president of Howard Computers, which was formed in 1998. She is a 1993 Mississippi State business graduate.
