In addition to honoring the classes of 1919, '24, '29, '34, '39, '44, '49, and '54, a special War Years Reunion will honor the students of the war year classes of 1940 through 1950.
"We are anticipating the largest turnout ever for the Class Reunions celebration at Mississippi State," said Diann Williams, coordinator of support services for the Alumni Association and director of the Class Reunions 1994. "We have a lot of exciting events planned, including a Grand Reunion Banquet to highlight the weekend of activities."
Williams said that many of the students who attended Mississippi State during the 1940s "in one way or another had their lives affected by World War II and we wanted to bring them back to campus to share their experiences with each other."
Among the activities being planned for the weekend include campus tours, seminars, Mississippi State vs. South Carolina baseball games, and a breakfast and memorial service on the morning of the final day.
