Bryan family supports athletic administration building

Architect's rendering of the proposed John H. Bryan Sr. Athletic Administration Building.

A major gift from the family of the late John H. Bryan Sr. of West Point, a co-founder of Bryan Foods, will make possible a new athletics administration building. The structure is one of the major needs identified by the university in the building category of The Campaign for Mississippi State.

Bryan family members from West Point and Memphis made the gift in early September.

Plans call for the two-story facility to house the Athletic Department ticket office, general administrative offices, student services, fund raising, and media relations, as well as the football coaching staff. The planned site is on Chadwick Lake, across the street from the Shira Athletic Complex.

Family spokesman George Bryan of Memphis said, "Mississippi State always has played a prominent part in the lives of our family members. Our father was extremely interested in seeing that all of his children received the highest possible quality of education, and Mississippi State was his institution of choice. It is a privilege to assist the university and to remember our father simultaneously with this gift."
