A strategy for Mississippi State University to become
the region's most respected land-grant institution
FutureSTATE 2015 implementation is well underway
Since our strategic planning document FutureSTATE 2015 was completed last September, we've made significant progress on nearly all of the top priority initiatives that were targeted for 2006-2007. As noted in the plan itself, full implementation will be a long-term process, but we've made a great start. It is clear that many individuals have devoted much creative thought and effort to moving the university ahead in these key areas.
During March, dozens of individuals and small teams that were assigned primary responsibility for various initiatives reported on their progress. For a short summary of what has been accomplished during the past seven months, click on "View Progress Report" below.
FutureSTATE 2015 promises regular review and modification as needed, and that process also has begun. The top-level State of the Future Committee, which helped guide the initial planning process last year, reconvened in April 2007 to take a broad look at the plan and consider how we move forward in 2007-2008.
The committee, composed of three vice presidents and four faculty members, will reach out during coming weeks to enlist many members of the university community in the next phase of implementation.
