The Mississippi State student chapter of the American Institute of Floral Designers will host a live evergreen wreath workshop in early December.
Participants may choose to attend the two-hour workshop either Dec. 3 or 4 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the University Florist, located on Lee Boulevard on MSU's campus. SAIFD members will show those in attendance how to cultivate and style wreaths for the holiday season.
"At the Christmas season, the look and fragrance of live evergreens call to mind holidays past and pleasant memories," said SAIFD faculty adviser James DelPrince. "Our workshop uses the best materials to create a professional-looking wreath."
The $40 reservation fee includes greenery, wreath form, wire and rustic seasonal trim. Participants can register with cash or check at 117 Dorman Hall and are encouraged to bring pruning shears, ribbon scissors and garden gloves.
Funds from the workshop will aid the organization in hosting world renowned floral designer Hitomi Gilliam of Vancouver in the spring.
Registration for the event is open to all. For more information, contact DelPrince at 662-549-0521 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
