Diversity Award winners recognized
The MSU President's Commission on the Status of Minorities honored those who exemplify the spirit of diversity at the university during a special ceremony in the Grisham Room of Mitchell Memorial Library last Wednesday.
Morrison receives Black History Month honor
Minion Kenneth Chauncey "KC" Morrison, Professor and Head of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, was recently honored as the 2011 Black History Month Educator of the Year by the IHL Board of Trustees.

National Wild Turkey Federation honors Leopold

Library, Art and Floral Design collaborate
Rotating weekly exhibits of ceramic vessels and floral displays are on public display in the Library. Creations by Art Professor Robert Long, along with Plant and Soil Sciences Professor Jim DelPrince and students in his advanced floral design classes, are available for viewing in the third-floor foyer.

REFLECTOR: New dean position formed
The Reflector reports that Mississippi State is raising the director's position of the Shackouls Honors College to a dean level. Provost Jerry Gilbert said the university wanted to elevate the status of the Honors College by raising the level of responsibility of the individual in charge.

Softball plays UAB in Birmingham Tuesday at 6 p.m., and opens play in this weekend's Bulldog Classic with Memphis at 3 p.m. Friday... Men's Basketball travels to Fayetteville on Wednesday for an 8 p.m. tipoff with Arkansas. On Saturday, they host South Carolina at 1 p.m.... Birthday celebration moved to Tuesday
Faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends of Mississippi State are invited to participate in the commemoration of the university's founding 133 year ago and to celebrate its accomplishments during a celebration Tuesday. Monday's weather forecast forced the postponement of the special event to Tuesday.
