Auto manufacturers support Japan relief effort
The Mississippi Automotive Manufacturers Association recently donated $5,000 for disaster relief to the Japan-America Society of Mississippi. The ceremony was held at Mississippi State University's Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems Extension office in Canton.

Baseball hosts Mississippi Valley State Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., and then travels to Oxford Thursday to begin a three-game SEC series with Ole Miss... Softball opens play in the SEC tournament in Oxford on Thursday... Track & Field is on the road to Athens Thursday through Sunday for the SEC Championships. Men's Tennis opens play in the first round of the NCAA Championship at 9 a.m. Friday with a match against Florida State in Atlanta.

Provost announces Hodges, Ryan appointments
Two veteran Mississippi State faculty members are assuming full-time duties in the university's provost office. Julia E. Hodges is being named associate vice president for administrative services. Peter L. Ryan, who has been serving as interim associate provost, will now hold that position permanently

Campus Operations has launched a new website this week that provides another platform for sharing information and enhancing customer service, according to executive director Amy Tuck.
Mid-week event to launch 2011 Maroon Edition
At a Wednesday public event, Mississippi State President Mark E. Keenum and other administrative and faculty leaders will formally announce the next selection for the university's 2011 Maroon Edition common reading program.
North Farm road closing for Research Park project
Beginning Monday, the portion of the North Farm road between Joe Baddley Drive and the entrance to the western parking lot of the A.B. McKay Food Research and Enology Lab building will close.
