Barnes & Noble at Mississippi State University will be open its regular business hours through Thursday, Dec. 22, and then operate on a holiday schedule.

The President's Commission on the Status of Minorities is accepting nominations for the 2012 MSU Diversity Awards. The annual awards program is designed to recognize individuals and teams of individuals who have demonstrated a significant commitment to enhancing diversity at Mississippi State University.

Registration open for early-2012 PERS workshop
Human Resources Management at Mississippi State is sponsoring a Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS) workshop on Feb. 29, 2012, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Bost Extension Center on the Starkville campus. The workshop is free for university employees, but pre-registration is required.
Christmastime display 'labor of love,' designers say
Earlier this month before Mississippi State students finished final exams and headed home for the holidays, something special at the university's Mitchell Memorial Library was reminding them that Christmastime was here. In addition to the large, brightly adorned tree at the entryway, there was another seasonal display drawing even more attention--and eye-popping admiration.
This Week in Mississippi State Sports, 12/26/11
Men's Basketball is on the road to Dallas on Thursday for a game against Baylor in the American Airlines Center. ESPN2 and the MSU Radio Network have the 8 p.m. broadcast. On Saturday, the team hosts Utah State at 2 p.m.... Women's Basketball travels to Reno for the University of Nevada Tournament with a Thursday game against Oklahoma State at 6 p.m., and a game on Friday with opponent and time to be determined by tournament play... Football plays Wake Forest on Friday in the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl in Nashville. ESPN and the MSU Radio Network have the 5:40 p.m. broadcast.
