Two researchers join MSU Extension Service

Mississippi State University named two researchers to Extension Service appointments at the Delta Research and Extension Center, effective May 1.

Entomologist Jeff Gore and rice agronomist Tim Walker will divide their work between the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station and the Extension Service. MAFES, the research arm of MSU’s agriculture division, is funded separately from Extension, MSU’s service branch.

Jeff Gore

Gore has worked as a MAFES researcher since 2007. Before joining MSU, he worked as an entomologist for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Research Service in Stoneville.

Tim Walker

Walker will continue working as a rice agronomist and researcher, which he has done since 2007.

Gore and Walker have received numerous awards for their contributions in their fields. They can be reached in Stoneville at 662-686-9311.
