Institutional Biosafety Committee
Committee reports to: Vice President for Research and Economic Development
Responsible for reviewing compliance with the NIH Guidelines on recombinant DNA research conducted at or sponsored by Mississippi State University. Reviews research personnel, facilities, and procedures and research proposals related to recombinant DNA technology. Establishes procedures and policies for the disposal of non-radioactive biohazardous waste and has oversight of such disposal. Reviews and makes recommendations on situations constituting biological hazards on campus.
