Margaret Kovar has worked as a news writer at Mississippi State University since 2011. She writes press releases, feature stories and other items of interest for departments across campus including art, music and the Social Science Research Center. She also produces short video features highlighting the university and its stakeholders, and helps maintain the university's Pinterest account.
A native of Deming, N.M., Margaret attended New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, N.M., where she received her bachelor's and master's degrees in agricultural and Extension education. While completing her degrees, she worked in the Office of University Communications, first as a student news writer covering agricultural programs and later as a full-time news writer. She currently is working toward her doctorate in agricultural science from MSU.
Margaret enjoys riding horses and competing in barrel races on her horse, Dallas, in her spare time. She also owns two miniature dachshunds, Ajax and Jackie Onassis.
