About this event

Mississippi State University is holding the fall 2016 commencement ceremony on its Starkville campus. Processional begins at 6:30 p.m., with the formal ceremony starting at 7 p.m. Greg Sankey, Southeastern Conference commissioner, will deliver the commencement address, which will be held at Humphrey Coliseum. More than 1,370 MSU students are candidates for degrees. Graduates from the summer term also are eligible to participate in the program. As part of a campus-wide focus on increased safety at public events, MSU will require those attending commencement ceremonies inside Humphrey Coliseum to pass walk-through metal detectors – which patrons at MSU basketball games have already begun to utilize. Bags or purses will also be searched by security personnel upon entry to Humphrey Coliseum and attendees are encouraged to utilize “clear” bags akin to those used successfully this season at Davis Wade Stadium. Cameras (including video) are welcome. Complete information is available from MSU's Office of the Registrar at 662-325-2022 or www.registrar.msstate.edu.
