The President's Commission on the Status of Women at Mississippi State University is accepting applications for new members until 5 p.m. today [May 15]. Openings for new members are available in the following categories: Faculty (2 openings); Graduate student (1); Undergraduate student (1); Support staff (3); Executive, administrative, managerial staff (4); and Community member (1). MSU's PCSW was created by then-President James McComas in 1977. Now 40 years old, the group continues to advise the president and offer campus programming addressing the roles and statuses of women on campus and in society. PCSW meetings are held from 3:30-5 p.m. on the last Tuesday of the month. Positions on the commission are open to all parties interested in advancing gender equity, regardless of sex, gender identity or sexual orientation.
